Healing Your Underactive Thyroid

An underactive thyroid, also known as hypothyroidism, is a condition in which the thyroid gland does not produce enough thyroid hormones. These hormones play a vital role in regulating the body's metabolism and energy levels.

Symptoms of an underactive thyroid can include missing fingernail moons, fatigue, weight gain, cracking of your heels, internally rotated arms , hair loss, and depression. If you are experiencing all or most of these symptoms, you may have an underactive thyroid.

Conventional treatment for an underactive thyroid/hypothyroidism typically involves taking synthetic thyroid hormone replacement medication such as, Synthroid/Levothyroxine. However, as a holistic doctor, I recommend taking a more holistic approach to your underactive thyroid.

This includes addressing any nutrient deficiencies, such as low levels of iodine, selenium, zinc, copper, and tyrosine, which are necessary for thyroid hormone production and healing your underactive thyroid. You can get these nutrients through your diet or if you are looking for a simpler option, you can try out our "Power Thyroid".

When it comes to your diet you can start incorporating kelp, seaweed, sea moss, shrimp, crab, oysters, scallops, brazil nuts, pumpkin seeds, pecans, cashews, and almonds. These foods contain the nutrients (stated above) your body needs to naturally produce thyroid hormones.

If you do not feel like eating all of these foods everyday, I highly recommend trying out Power Thyroid. Power Thyroid has all the raw materials your body needs to support appetite and weight management, energy, mood, and the natural production of thyroid hormones T3 and T4.

Weight Management

Power Thyroid contains Chromium which helps regulate blood sugar levels, helps the body stay in a fat burning mode, helps control appetite and cravings, supports weight management, and helps to preserve lean tissue. It also contains ForsLean Coleus Forskohlii which supports lean body mass through ergogenic activity and stimulates AMP (adenosine monophosphate), which then stimulates metabolism for greater fat burning. It also contains a compound called forskolin, which has been shown to mimic the effect of TSH (thyroid stimulating hormones).

Energy

Power Thyroid contains Folic Acid that is needed for the manufacture of red blood cells. Fatigue is associated with a folic acid deficiency.

Mood Balance

Power Thyroid contains Tyrosine which supports mood as it is required for the production of dopamine, norepinephrine, and epinephrine which are responsible for regulating mood. It also helps to reduce appetite. It also contains Bacopa Monnierei which is an Ayurvedic herb that has been used to increase focus and concentration. It also is shown to support the thyroid's production of T4.

Thyroid gland and hormone production

Power Thyroid contains B vitamins such as B2 and B6. Vitamin B2 is needed for metabolism and thyroid functioning. A lack of B2 can contribute to low thyroid function. Vitamin B6 helps regulate the production of thyroid hormones. It also supports the utilization of iodine required for the production of thyroid hormones. It also contains Copper which plays an important role in thyroid metabolism, especially in hormone production and absorption. Power Thyroid also contains Guggelsterones, Iodine, and Maganese. Guggelsterones have been shown to support the concentration of thyroid hormones in the blood especially the ratio of the active T3 to T4 in the blood. Iodine is required for the production of thyroid hormones. Finally, a deficiency in Maganese can reduce thyroid activity. Maganese is required for T4 production.
